The Danforth Music Hall hosts a wonderful voice from Greece. Regarded as a Greek music icon, with her career that spans over more than fifty years, Marinella has released over than sixty personal albums and has participated in many album projects of fellow Greek artists. Her popularity rose in the 70's and 80's, with a string of successful albums and live shows.

Undoubtedly, one of the best representatives of Greek music, Marinella developed new standards for shows in the Greek night clubs, introducing costumes, dancing and special lighting effects. She is taken as a model by many of today's popular Greek singers for their own shows. Having a versatile manner including a variety of musical styles such as Greek traditional, laïkó, pop, blues, jazz as well as folk music, she performed in several Greek musicals both as a singer and actress. Reaching platinum and golden status with her albums, that contains duets with famous Greek singers such as Stelios Kazantzidis, Tolis Voskopoulos, Kostas Chatzis, Giorgos Dalaras, Yiannis Parios and Antonis Remos.

The Greek Diva was the first singer to represent Greece at the International Midem festival and the Eurovision Song Contest. Also, she participated twice in the Rio International Song Festival. Marinella is characterised as "Hecuba of the Greek Song" or "The Grande Dame of the Greek Song" in Greece, where she is regarded with great respect. She rarely makes public appearances and her concerts are few.

Kostas Karafotis started his music career in March 2005; and it was then that the qualified medical doctor worked with the popular Greek composer Antonis Vardis, who helped produce his first album. Thereafter Kostas' musical career has soared. He has released many more commercially successful albums after his first in 2005, performing in all of Greece's major cities and touring around the world.

Marinella and Kostas Karafotis had first met in February 2012, when Kostas accompanied the Greek diva in two concerts at the Pavilion Hall and the following year in her unique recital at the İş Sanat Istanbul Hall.
