Στις 25 Ιανουαρίου του 2015, έφυγε από τη ζωή ο διεθνούς φήμης Έλληνας τραγουδιστής και συνθέτης Ντέμης Ρούσσος (γεν. 15 Ιουνίου 1946), σε ηλικία 68 ετών.

Με την Μαρινέλλα πρωτο-συναντήθηκαν τον χειμώνα του 1972, όταν η ερμηνεύτρια τραγούδησε στα ελληνικά δύο από τις μεγαλύτερες διεθνείς επιτυχίες του, το «Velvet mornings» (ως «Ντρίγκι, ντρίγκι, μάνα μου») και το «My reason» (ως «Πού πάνε εκείνα τα παιδιά»). «Μου τα ζήτησε η Μαρινέλλα να τα τραγουδήσει στα ελληνικά…» είπε σε συνέντευξη του (Περιοδικό «ΕΦ», 2010). «Της απάντησα: Κούκλα μου, πάρ' τα· εγώ εσένα σε θαυμάζω, είσαι καταπληκτική τραγουδίστρια, να τα πάρεις να τα τραγουδήσεις, να τα κάνεις ό,τι θέλεις!».

Και πράγματι, η Μαρινέλλα τα ηχογράφησε σε ελληνικούς στίχους του Πυθαγόρα, και κυκλοφόρησαν σε δίσκο 45' στροφών στις 17 Ιανουαρίου 1973. Μάλιστα, η συνεργασία τους είχε καλυφθεί και προβληθεί εκτενώς από τα έντυπα της εποχής, με φωτορεπορτάζ από τις συναντήσεις τους στο Παρίσι.

Δύο χρόνια μετά, η Μαρινέλλα ηχογράφησε ακόμα μία διεθνή επιτυχία του, το «From souvenirs to souvenirs», που μέσα από τη μοναδική μαεστρία του Πυθαγόρα μετατράπηκε στο πασίγνωστο «Γιατί φοβάσαι (Παρ' το φεγγάρι και κάν' το βέρα μου)» που κυκλοφόρησε στο άλμπουμ «Μαρινέλλα για πάντα», στις 30 Ιουνίου 1975.

| Renowned Greek singer Demis Roussos, who sold more than 60 million albums worldwide, died at the age of 68, on January 25, 2015. Roussos and Marinella had first met in Paris during the winter of 1972, when Marinella requested to record in greek two of his greatest international hits; “Velvet mornings (Drigi, drigi, mana mou)” and “My reason (Pou pane ekina ta pedia?)”. “I replied to her; My beautiful girl, take the songs· I admire you, you're an amazing singer, do whatever you like!" said Roussos in an interview (“EF” Greek Magazine, 2010). Indeed, Marinella recorded the songs, which were released on a 45' rpm vinyl record in Greece, on January 17, 1973. Pythagoras had written the Greek lyrics. Two years later, Marinella recorded one more of Roussos' international hits, the popular song “From souvenirs to souvenirs”, which through the unique mastery of Pythagoras became “Giati fovase (Par' to feggari ke kan' to vera mou)” and was included in her studio album “Marinella gia panta (Marinella for ever)”, which was released on June 30, 1975. Three unique Greek versions that Marinella always includes in her musical performances throughout the years.
